Aloft Bengaluru Cessna Business Park, takes you on a’lofty food journey that is as long as it’s name !!!
I was delighted to be invited to the on going Pan Asian food festival since this cuisine ranks high on my list of favorites.
The dishes are showcased as a part of their regular buffet, with additional festival dishes that amount to more than 30% over the regular menu. We of course were served the entire range of what they have in store, so that we could sample a bit of everything.
Chef Sandeep Kumar is highly passionate about his work and in his attempt to present items from all regions of the East, he has incorporated dishes from Vietnam, Thailand, Japan, Malaysia and so forth, with Oriental salads, sushi, dim sum, tempura, Thai curries, noodles and even Asian desserts, on the line up.
Asian flavored Cocktails and mocktails are available on order. The Kafir lime flavored cocktail was one of the favorites at the table.
My favorite food of the night was the humongous prawn tempura as well as its vegetarian asparagus counterpart, the creamy coconutty Thai green curry with shrimp and the subtle but refreshing Sago Gula Melaka, the pudding with sago cooked in coconut milk and gently sweetened with palm jaggery (gula melaka). Of course the Tub tim grob with its chestnut rubies in coconut milk, is my eternal favorite and I quite enjoyed that too.
Our experience was further enhanced by the kind hospitality of Chef Sandeep who made the time to stay with us and guide us through the meal.
The attentiveness of the staff too, needs a special mention.
The festival is on at the Nook from Mar 14-24, at both the lunch and dinner buffets and is priced at Rs 1099/- ++
