HakkaChow – Home Delivery

The food and beverage industry which has been greatly affected by the pandemic, is now quickly finding its feet again via the system of home delivery.

Joining the increasing list of such brands, is Lounge Hospitality, which is a part of Embassy Leisure. They have quickly reinvented themselves during these strange times and are launching a series of cuisines as a part of their dine at home experiences, that are user-friendly, delicious, follow safety protocols and yet manage to be pocket friendly.

Adapting to the current scenario and spreading joy through their food, is their theme and going by the tasting menu that I received from Chef Vikas the Culinary Director, their customers are sure to be ecstatic, just as I was 😀

The first of their brands featuring Asian cuisine, was launched on August 14th, 2020 under the label HakkaChow and Chef Vikas has as usual lived up to his reputation of creating magic with ingredients.

Chef Vikas who is synonymous with the Sanchez and Sriracha brands, tells us that HakkaChow is a showcasing of Asian market style meals. In the pipeline are the Bangalore Pizza Company, the Tex Mex brand called Mad Mex and our very own North Indian fare under the name Garam Masala but for today let us go forth and drool over my favorite cuisine – the Asian 😍

The Menu –

The menu plans to be dynamic and will vary from time to time cycling through the specials and crowd favorites. It aims to incorporate healthy and creative options with local ingredients that are nutritious and geared towards boosting general immunity.

HakkaChow brings you the quintessential night market fare with its medley of flavors and palate tantalizing fare.

The desserts however, are from their earlier restaurant menu but one look at the decadent chocolate mousse and tres leches cake and no one will have any complaints 😀

My tasting menu –

As I always mention (tiresomely and tirelessly and repeatedly :-D), Asian cuisine is what floats my boat and sends me into raptures and whenever I have dined at Sriracha, I have come away in a trance after sampling the amazing food. So it was no surprise that I was blown away yet again by the array of dishes that landed up all neatly and obediently following safety norms.

The tasting menu had a fair amount of vegetarian dishes, each of which was excellent right from the Crispy Shanghai vegetables parcel and Vegetable Manchurian balls to the Stir fry mixed vegetables, Veg hakka noodles and the Tofu and vegetable green Thai curry meal bowl.

The non vegetarian fare had the Chilli pepper prawns … I am tempted to stop right here because this is actually all I need in life. I can feast on those luscious prawns all life long and never ask for anything else.

But there was lots else 😀 and that comprised of the Wok tossed chicken appetizer. The soup which only the non veg people get 😎, was the Chicken Manchow with a crispy fried noodle garnish.

The mains had the Pan fried River Sole fish in chilli garlic sauce and an Asian meal bowl with aromatic Thai yellow fried rice and chicken in chilli oyster sauce.

All the dishes were excellent but a special mention for my prawns of course which were outstanding and it is not just my partiality towards them that speaks 😀

The quantities are very generous and for a really small eater like myself, each dish is quite a feast.

The only suggestion that I had, was to opt for eco friendly packaging.

Pictures shout louder than words, so allow mine to make a din 😀

The coma was complete with the Chocolate Mousse with peanut tuille!!!
