Tribute Royale – KTM2022

Hotel Tribute Royale was a welcome sanctuary for me, when the driver brought me there all bleary eyed and sleepy at 5 am, after my journey from Bangalore.

The Kerala Travel Mart 2022 edition was what finally pushed me out of my house after 2 painfully long Covid ridden years and this was an event that had been looked forward to for too long! Tribute Royale was my first stopover before I embarked on the 5 day media tour of Central Kerala.

So here is a brief narration of the place that I spent just around 24 hours in. Yeah just a day, that’s why it’s brief or else my story would have been longer 😏

So set foot into the lobby of Tribute Royale, Ernakulam, Kerala, India and have a quick look at this place.

Tribute Royale –

Tribute Royale, is listed as a 4 star property and is just 2 years old. This relatively new place that is situated along the National Highway 66 (NH66), gives the impression of a business hotel, considering that it is not very close to many of the touristic attractions. However, it is a well maintained property which provides comfortable accommodation and attentive and responsive service. I was especially grateful for the early check-in that they provided me at 5am, when I was dreading having to loll in the lounge till the official check-in time.

Features –

The hotel pretty much meets all the standard requirements. 20 rooms across 3 floors, a restaurant which serves traditional Kerala fare as well as a range of multicuisine options, room service, free WiFi, a picturesque swimming pool with a view, a small basic gym, a banquet hall that can accommodate 500 pax and a free parking facility.

Rooms –

There are 3 categories of rooms, Deluxe, Premium and Suites.

The rooms are spacious and bright and well kept. All the rooms have the basic amenities expected of a hotel of this category, like air conditioning, flat screen television, a safe, drinking water, electric kettle and tea and coffee, fridge, bed and bath ware, all toiletries and other such standard facilities.

Dining –

Traditional Kerala cuisine, Continental and other multicuisine breakfast options are available every morning at the Silver Spoons restaurant on the ground floor.

Lunch offered us à la carte options and dinner again was a buffet.

The food is quite palatable and the friendly staff are always on stand by to help with information or fulfil requests for customization.

The buffet is usually on at breakfast and they serve many local dishes apart from the other fare, a trait that I have always appreciated in all the hotels that I have stayed in Kerala. Of course the state does have a rich and varied cuisine of its own, so it would be actually difficult for them to eliminate their dishes.

My room –

My room on the 2nd floor had a very charming balcony, lined with flowering plants that added a splash of color. The view from here was a large expanse of open ground but the rooms that faced the main road, had balconies alongside the swimming pool.

Several luxury car showrooms line the opposite side of NH66 and apart from swimming, one can also stand by the poolside, both day and night and gaze out at the highway and dream of the cars that one cannot afford to buy 😉

The gym is also on the second floor.

Getting there –

Kochi is a well connected city with an international airport and its main railway station at Ernakulam Junction (South).

Apart from this, it is also well connected by many major roads.

The Cochin International Airport is around 34 km from the hotel and the railway station is a mere 6 km away.
