Santan – Flavours on Wheels, from Air Asia.
When being ‘grounded’ is not always a bad thing
Santan the Air Asia menu that has been put together by Taj Sats Air caterer for Air Asia India’s domestic flights, brings the in flight food down to earth so that everyone can get a taste of the fare.
The Air Asia branded food truck will carry this novel concept that brings VFM hot and cold meals at Rs 189/- (which is the price of their pre booked meals) and will be available at various locations on the streets of Bangalore.
Santan meaning coconut milk in Malaysia, is the commonly used ingredient in Asian cooking and hence is the label that stands for their in flight meals.
Well it could also mean Family in ‘Indian’ and the friendly Air Asia family that greeted us at the tasting at 40 Heights, Whitefield, quite justified this interpretation of mine
The hilarious DJ Danish Sait entertained us as we chose from the 14 meal options that were served with a complimentary beverage. Covering both North Indian and South Indian options, these meals seek to satisfy Indian fliers across the country.
Everyone’s favorite meal for the day was the Exotic Mexican Vegetable Steak with Mushroom Cream Sauce !!!
The truck will begin its rounds of Bangalore from Mon 21st Nov 2016 – Thu 15th Dec 2016.
It will be stationed at key spots all across the city and you can track it on the official social media pages of AirAsia India on Twitter (twitter.com/airasian) and Facebook (facebook.com/AirAsiaIndia) and check out what they have to offer.
