Bambolim Beach Resort – Goa

Goa evokes visuals of the sun, sand and sea and even though it was enduring an extended monsoon this time when I visited during the Goa International Travel Mart GITM 2019, from Oct 23rd – 25th, I nevertheless had my slice  of beach at not just one but two occasions at the delightful Bambolim Beach Resort. And I actually prefer the clouds to the sun, so everything did work out well for me 😀

Let me take you through a quick glimpse of the beach hugging resort that lies along a secluded and private shore.

About Bambolim Beach Resort –

This resort lies along the Bambolim Beach and is located not too far from Goa’s capital city Panjim. Owned by the Nunes brothers Vero and Savio, this place is one of Goa’s oldest resorts.

Opened in 1989, it has weathered the passage of time and continues to be one of Goa’s popular stay options.

Rooms and amenities –

The resort has 127 room in the main building with options of Superior and Deluxe categories that are either garden facing or beach facing.

It also offers colorful Portuguese Colonial style luxury villas and suites that line the pathways near the sea shore. The sea facing balconies offer stunning views of the waters.

The rooms are simple and they feature flat screen TVs, tea and coffee makers, free Wi Fi etc.

Dining –

The open air La Bamba beachfront bar and kitchen serves meals buffet style. Twice a week, live music and entertainment accompanies the meals and its pretty much party time all the time at the resort.

Louis who sang some old numbers for us, is a great singer and there were several requests that he heeded to. Yes I got my very own Sweet Caroline which I requested for, since I happened to be there on my birthday. And I could not have asked for a better place to party 😀

The cuisine is a mix of Goan, pan Indian and global. The seafood is fresh and the prawns and calamari that we were served were delicious.

The buffet served to us had several Goan dishes including luscious slices of king fish, beef, pork roast, mutton Xacuti, Goan pulao etc.

The dessert counter had an excellent Creme Caramel and Bibinca.

The bar also did its bit and shook out an array of cocktails from the Pina Colada to whatever the heart desired.

Of course there also was home grown ‘addsor’ (tender coconut) served right off a cart under the canopy of the Banyan tree!!!

Conference Hall –

The sea side can be a gorgeous albeit  very distracting location for a conference and with a name like See Shore, one will definitely make Shore to See the views that the large windows offer, instead of focusing on work … but then the thoughtfully provided stern looking curtains ensure that the work goes on uninterrupted 😀

Other amenities –

The highlight of the resort is its easy beach access and sundeck, both of which are an instagrammer’s delight.

The swaying palm trees create ethereal frames with the backdrop of the golden sky.

The Hoop swing is also a start attraction and almost synonymous with the resort.

There is also a delightful looking outdoor swimming pool as well as a fitness room and a game room.

And speaking of highlights, how can I forget the ancient and magnificently gigantic banyan tree that stands sentinel alongside the restaurant. This is just another one of their several locations that drive photographers crazy 😀

I also loved the Mario Miranda’esque washrooms 😀

A short video featuring an overview of the place.

The resort is suited for any type of traveller right from families to couples to solo to business.
