During my visit to Goa with the GITM 2019, Goa International Travel Mart, Deltin Royale Casino was our host for one glittering evening where all the media were taken to experience what Goa is famous for … its casinos.
Goa has several on land and off shore casinos and these are hot spots for tourists who want to try their hand and luck at hitting the jack pot.
About the Deltin Royale Casino –
The Deltin Royale Casino belongs to the Deltin chain of casinos and hotels, owned by Delta Corp Ltd. Deltin brands offer luxurious mix of entertainment and hospitality which are world class.
Featuring some of the largest casinos, the Deltin group has taken the country’s gaming scene to another level.
Apart from the Deltin Royale Casino, the other Goan casinos in its portfolio are Deltin JAQK and Deltin Caravela.
The Deltin Royale Casino which is docked on the River Mandovi, is spread over 5 decks and is said to be India’s largest and most luxurious offshore entertainment and gaming destination and it has something for everyone including gamers, travellers and even large groups.
It features international games such as Baccarat, Blackjack and American Roulette and also has an exclusive Taash Room for Indian Flush. It also has India’s largest dedicated poker room, the Royale Poker Room.
Live entertainment by international performers, lavish multi cuisine buffets and a selection of the finest alcohol at the Whiskys
Lounge, are the hallmarks of the Casino.
It also offers deluxe VIP gaming suites that select guests can choose from to stay and play.
(Some of the above information above has been obtained from the Deltin website).
My experience –
The entry to all the offshore casinos is via their exclusive piers where one forms a Q in case of rush (which is most of the time, I gathered).
Tickets are to be bought (it is a good idea to carry an Id card) and after quite a thorough security check one enters the facility at the pier and awaits the boat that will transport the guests across the Mandovi river to where the actual ship is anchored.
There are various categories of tickets that include the Regular, the Premium, VIP, Teen and even a Kid’s special package. Details are available on the website given below.
We were a large group of media delegates from the GITM and hence we all stayed together. Once we reached the casino, we had a choice of going to the 1st or 3rd level deck for gambling 😀 or straight to the 2nd floor for dinner and entertainment. Having got my priorities right, I of course headed for the dinner 😀
En route there were some photo ops with Russian entertainers (not going to debate on the rights or wrongs of that here). There was also the live entertainment on stage by Indian as well as international performers was quite professional and riveting.
The buffet was sufficiently vast and palatable, though not outstanding in my opinion. The space is named Vegas and what happens in Vegas remains in Vegas, so I will not tell you what we ate … Or maybe I will 😀
The Whiskey Lounge served drinks and also had its own share of live performers.
Some of the group did try their hand at the casino but I heard that they did not do too well 😀 Unfortunately photography is prohibited in the gaming areas and hence I have nothing to show you from there. But here is a picture from the GITM venue for your entertainment.
The night ended after dinner and drinks and we retraced the ‘sail’ back to the pier past muti hued bridges in the pouring rain and then onward to our hotels.
