The Organics and Millets International Trade Fair 2018 (OMITF2018) took place from Jan 19th-21st, 2018 at the Bangalore Palace, Main Entrance.

A few Highlights from Day 1 of the OMITF2018 –
MOS for agriculture, Shri Krishna Byre Gowda, Shri Satish G, Commissioner of agriculture and Shri Maheshwar Rao, Secretary – Agriculture, welcoming the Chief Minister of Karnataka, Shri Siddaramiah, to the venue.
Arathi welcome by the ladies of the Dept of agriculture, followed by traditional dances by troupes from different districts and then the Rashi puja at the entrance of the palace.
Inauguration of the OMITF2018 by the Chief Minister of Karnataka, Shri Siddaramiah with addressess by Maheshwar Rao, Secretary – Agriculture, Shri Krishna Byre Gowda, MOS agriculture and Shri Siddaramiah.
Release of the New edition of the Millet recipe book
The exhibition begins. Stalls from Karnataka and other states. Millet and organic related products.
Arrival of farmers from various districts and states.
International conferences in the 2 halls – Jaivik Hall and Siridhanya Hall
Formal opening of the B2B lounge follwed by B2B and F2B sessions
Activites in the Khanavalli (the Food Hall) which included
1. Millet dish display challenge for public – Sweet and Savory items
2. Panel Disscussion on Scope of Millets in Brewing from 2pm – 3pm
3. Namma Nati Katha – Culinary demonstrations by Shazia Khan interspersed with Nostalgic stories narrated by Vikram Sridhar and informative session by a block printing artist from Tarangini.
4. A panel discussion on the movement of organic food – the past, the present and the future, by Sridhar Iriventi – the founder of GoBhaarati, Sheela Krishnaswamy, Rashmi Daga, Chef Ravitejnath.
5. Cultural programmes
And a whole lot of Millet and Organic food outlets.
